Dave Hunter

Dave Hunter is a professional travel writer and photographer, and active member in the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW). He is also a founding member of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC).

Dave and his wife, Kathy, have been driving from Michigan to Florida since the mid-1960s; much of the early years on sections of the newly constructed Interstate-75. Since 1992, Dave has been writing and publishing Along Interstate-75, an award-winning book which helps people enjoy driving this major freeway between the Midwest and the Georgia/Florida border.

With more than 40 years of I-75 drive-to-Florida experience behind them, Dave and Kathy, know the route intimately. Over the years, they have acquired hundreds of friends and travel industry contacts along the I-75 corridor, who share their "local knowledge" of roadside secrets, local restaurants and ways to save money--all making Along I-75 invaluable for the Florida-bound vacationer. Accordingly, they have become North America's acknowledged experts for "snowbirds" driving the route.

But why leave it there? With more than 40 years of Florida travel experience behind them, Dave and Kathy are now sharing their "local knowledge" of the Sunshine State's 2,000 miles of interstates and tollroutes through the pages of his newest book, Along Florida's Expressways. They hope their road "secrets," tips and many unusual roadside stories will help and entertain others as they enjoy driving Florida's expressways.

Dave loves sharing his tips and finds on radio and with reporters. He has done hundreds of radio interviews and has been quoted in both national and regional newspapers, magazines, newsletters and online.

When not out seeking new driving experiences, you'll find Dave and Kathy living quietly at their home beside Lake Ontario, with their two Burmese cats, Tammy and Simon.
